I should explore new foods more than I do. I'm quite conservative.
Did you ever find those rainbow Oreo's?
Thanks to one of my sisters, who is very adventurous, I have learned to try new things with no regret!
And I'm thinking, thanks to your hubby's new condition, you're trying lots of new things as well. Anything in particular that you've enjoyed?
I can't recall... so it's been too long!
I don't like to cook or bake but lately I have been wanting to cook Indian food. Chicken vindaloo is delicious!
Hi human, Ivy,I'm exploring a new range of doggy biscuits. My unsuspecting human, Gary, had one of the biscuits and then I told him that he'd just eaten a doggy biscuit. He's okay but he barks a lot more.Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses,Penny xx
New range of doggy biscuits sounds fun and yummy.
Rarely do I experiment but I tolerate my husband's adventuresome whims when they come up from time to time. Not sure why I don't experiment more, if I'm too lazy to try new recipes or if I'm too afraid of new flavors?
Why afraid of new?
I tried Indian food awhile back, but, while good, it all tasted like curry (except for the mint chutney, which was very nice). To clarify, I generally eat Japanese style curry dishes, so I was expecting a bit more difference in flavor, however, it seems that Punjabi-style cuisine uses the same batches of spices. I also had the lamb, but it tasted like beef to me *shrug*
Interesting that they were the same. Do you ever make curry at home? I recently tried lamb for the first time.
I generally stick with the tried and true. But, like Christine, I do have a sister who always loves to experiment. Recently she grew her own wheat and old fashioned corn, so we got to try some of her fresh baked foods straight from the field. Another time my mom grew sugar beets, and we had sugar beet molasses.
Wow. All of those things sound killer good. I've grown heirloom organic corn before and wow, it's amazing. I ate some of it raw and loved it. How about you?
I am not the most adventuresome when it comes to food, and if I don't like the look or smell I won't touch it. LOL!
What the last new ingredient or food you tried?
I love trying new foods as long as it doesn't fall into what I define as gross. Slimy type foods certainly qualify.
Understandable.Do you recall the last new food or ingredient you tried?
You know, I honestly can't. I try new stuff regularly and can't remember the latest. But brussel sprouts, for example, is something that I didn't eat up until a year ago. True!
My range of foods is pretty extensive anyway Ivy, if I come across new foods I try them, but I no longer go out of my way to do so. Hey I heard you can buy cricket flour near here, yes I do mean crickets. Have you tried that one Ivy?
Why did you stop hunting down new ingredients? I never tried cricket before. You?
I'm not much of a new foods person
How about Daisy?
I just love looking at recipe's and trying out ideas, but reading Jo's comment above I haven't heard of 'cricket flour' that is a new one to me.Hope you had a good Friday and have a happy weekend ahead. All the best Jan
Cool beans that you eniou trying new recipes. How about foods? When was the last time you tried something new?
There's not much I won't eat. My favorite place to browse is the ethnic grocery store. SO MANY new-to-me items!
Cool beans, Any standout?
