My day is going pretty darn good. Instead of doing one puppy treat, I made three. Carrot & Oat Cookie, Celery Skeletons, and Frozen Bricks. Have a few things to tweak, but all in all a focused day. And I made sure to leave off, knowing just where to start tomorrow.
I love that.
I also wanted to say, thanks for all the support yesterday. Happy to report that today, I didn't think about sucking - not even one little bit. Instead, I worked and had fun.
Not too shabby.
In other news, we're having homemade pizza tonight. Using Paul Hollywood's formula. It's a wee bit different than mine but so far, I really like the feel of the dough, and I'm excited to see how the personal pans bake up later tonight.
So ... what's for supper at your house?
Paul Hollywood, your other boyfriend. I better not find strange thumb prints in the dough!
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling you were going to say that today. But I tell ya, now I'm thinking ... if I had to pick between Hollywood and Wolverine, that would be one tough choice.
DeleteSmooch to you. No big fat thumb in your pizza tonight. Just pepperoni and cheese.
I love to put celery in pretty much everything :) I mean celery leaves. I will bake soya flakes and sour cream filo pastry pie tomorrow for lunch since I only had pea soup today. I have just soup for lunch for times a week. I will die hungry and fat one day :)
ReplyDeleteI use the entire celery, the leaves are wonderful. As for leves, I could and do eat it often. So good and so many combinations.
DeletePlease let me know if you post pictures.
Our celery here is different from the American one. You have a long green stalk, while we have a sort of white turnipy root and some green leaves on top like on parsley. We use the root diced in soups and the leaves for anything else.
DeleteWe have celery root here as well. That's the one thing about living where I do, we have all kinds of things, from all over the world.
DeleteWe have bok choy, celery, celery root, all kinds of root veg, all kinds of stuff. Which is what I love.
And parsley root. So many ingredients, which makes cooking all that much more fun.
DeleteI love both parsley and parsnip root! Parsnip is wonderful even breaded when you slice it in lovely thin slices and bread them :)
DeleteNever had it breaded. Do you fry it? Bake it? Any special seasoning?
DeleteI'm headed to Aldi to see what veg they have on offer this week. Usually, I can snag a few good deals there.
Cheers and boogie boogie.
Blitzed oats? I don't understand…is that like cooking oats down or something?
ReplyDeleteI thought of you while I was out shopping today. I spent $6.99 for dog treats. Sure, they were a big container, but man, that's expensive. I wish I could make my own and have the fun you're having with it.
I put the oats in the processor and gave them a good blitz, which turned them into a rough flour, which helped absorb some of the carrot liquid.
DeleteSeven smackers for dog treats. Oy. What is your favorite brand of dog food, wet and/or dry?
When you have fun without feeling sucky about anything, it's indeed a great day! Homemade pizza...hmmmm.... I haven't done that in years. That's definitely something I should put on the menu!
ReplyDeleteI thought Tim needed lunch tomorrow, so I changed it up to pepperoni rolls. Only, I forgot he had a staff meeting. So now we have six rolls instead of six mini pizzas.
DeleteWhat's stopping you from putting pizza back on the menu? Did you like any toppings? I love black olives, red onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Or red. Or spicy. Really just any pepper except those little fake hot peppers that taste of nothing but vinegar. Forgot what they are called.
You know, I don't really have a good reason. The only thing I hesitate with is the expense of the cheese, which is ridiculously high. I'll have to check for sales and use coupons to bring it down. But other than that, nothing. I just need to make the effort. I love red onions and mushrooms and peppers, too (any colour). I'm not a big meat eater, so I don't need pepperoni or sausage or ham, or any such thing. A simple cheese and veggie pizza is good.
DeleteI love pizza without cheese, and loaded with veg. And eggplant parm without the cheese. But yeah, the price is so high for cheese, it's nuts. My mom said back in the day, fish and cheese were the cheapest to buy, but now, nutso.
DeleteYou've had a productive day!
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I've got a western omelette on a roll waiting for me... and pie for dessert.
Was it good? We had store-bought cheesecake for dessert.
DeleteGlad you had a good day to day--and your post educated me: I didn't even know celery had skeletons!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, they do. Thanks for stopping by and boogie boogie.
DeleteI can never make good pizza. Especially the cheese
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that. Any ideas what went wrong?
DeleteWe had a leftover warm ups night. Homemade pizza sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteI had to skip the pizza and instead go with pepperoni rolls but I did make the pizza today.
DeleteHope your leftovers were yummy.
Something with chicken. Maybe Lemon-Thyme, or Piccato or Hoisin-Plum. Yum! Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteWow, fancy stuff. Which did you go for?
DeleteRainbow trout...wild rice....asparagus....spinach salad...
ReplyDeleteAND....it was delish!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Very clean. Lovely.
