On today's decluttering docket are tools (I build tables), wood, Annie Sloan chalk paint, regular people paint and cleaning supplies.
I'll start with the paint, which shouldn't take long. Everything gets pulled off the shelves and only paint related items of value and usefulness gets to stay.
Everything else goes bye bye.
Wash, rinse and repeat with the rest of the categories mentioned and if it all gets done by end of the day, great.
If not, that's okay too.
Either way, it's gonna be a good decluttering day because I'm in the mood to kick some Monday butt.
Big time.

I enjoy organizing and decluttering, it helps with stress. And it looks like you have a really good handle on it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny. Boud below said it helps her stress. I'm glad it helps you with your stress.
DeleteYes, I did this a decade ago and got rid of 90 percent of my stuff. I go by category and that really helps streamline things. Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week!
You've been busy then, making your place looks tidier and clean it seems. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. Went well today even with only one category completed. Bring on tomorrow. I'm ready. Thanks for stopping in.
DeleteI love to clean, organize and purge. It feels great. I love your sketch, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun, Linda. I agree. Thank you about my art. Fun to do. Happy New Week!!!!
DeleteWe decluttered last year. Made a little extra room but not much...
ReplyDeleteOh no, how come? I'm curious to know why you didn't get any extra room. Would love to know more.
DeleteI have the top kitchen cabinets on the declutter list, maybe today, but for sure this week...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds excellent. Also, I read your post. Sorry the pup isn't feeling good. Hope grass grows soon. Wishing you a strong rest of the week.
DeleteSounds like you have a good system. I so need to declutter but every time I try I get too overwhelmed by all the mess and I quit.
ReplyDeleteI really do, Ann. By category is the ONLY way I roll. It makes it easy to do one category and be done and move to the next one later or another day. It really, really helps keeps things simple. Like one day, I did all my yarn. I got all my yarn and yarn-related stuff and put it in one pile. I pulled out what I love, is useful and of value to me and I gave away the rest. And that's one category, done and dusted. Maybe that way would work for you?
DeleteI find decluttering is a stress reliever. I'm ready to do more.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool Boud. Here's to getting more done. So fun!
DeleteGood luck with it today! You have a great attitude!
ReplyDeleteHey Marie. Much thanks. Yes, attitude is key. 100 percent, I believe this to be true.
DeleteAwesome art!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne!
DeleteI need to get busy and do this, as well!
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
It's sooo much fun, Donna! Also, I tried your bobbin hack and IT WORKED!!!! Much, much thanks! Happy Sewing.
DeleteYour energy shows through in this post and you have me wanting to do some decluttering too. :) Have fun and I hope you kick more butt than you think you will.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. Was a great day. Didn't finish. The chalk paint category never looked better. Hey, Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday!!!!!
DeleteYou have a lot planned for the day. I know that once you start it usually goes well, and you'll feel so good about what you got done!
ReplyDeleteI did have a lot planned. More than I could finish so tomorrow, wood/tools.
DeleteOh yeah, I really love a good declutter. Back in 2016 I got rid of 90 percent of my stuff. Was wonderful.
I think I'm going to need help kicking Monday butt :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Kathy! How'd your Monday go?
Delete"I'm in the mood to kick some Monday butt" -- hahahahaha! You go, girl!
ReplyDeletelolololololol - Didn't finish. Was a good day though. Chalk paint and all paint-related category done and dusted.
DeleteHappy decluttering day! I often find minimalism clashes with hobbies, how 'bout you?
ReplyDeleteHi Abby. Thank you for the Happy Decluttering Day!
DeleteMinimalism and hobbies is an interesting topic that I'd like to dig deeper in. For myself, I'm not a minimalist however, there are parts of it I enjoy. For me, hobbies are and have always been a part of my life since I was wee little. And since The Great Declutter of 2016 I've picked up many new hobbies. I don't ever imagine that changing so what I do is, I make room for what I love to do.
I have stations for different hobbies. A sewing nook, a shared office with Smoochie Face and my side is the photography studio. I have an art and writing desk, a dough station and so on. I find the stations are a great fun.
That said, this is an excellent topic that I'd love to dig more into and hear more from you about as well.
"I make room for what I love to do"- excellent!
DeleteHey Abby! It's an interesting conversation. I'd love to hear more from your point of view.
DeleteI should declutter too
ReplyDeleteIt's sooo much fun. Been a decade since I went through every single ding dong category and it's been really, really good.
DeleteHope you give it a go!
we had no option but to declutter when we moved last year and we continued to do so as we unpacked so no decluttering going on here for a while but it felt great to do it when we did. Maureen in MO. (Ilikeknittingsndsewing.blogspot.com). Not sure why I have to post as annonymous! Blogger at it's best lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know. I commented on your blog. I didn't see knitting. But I commented on the other one. Hopefully the right one. I dunno why Blogger does that. Thanks stopping in!
DeletePS: Love that you did that when you moved. That's a wonderful thing.
You've got this Ivy!! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteHellloooooo Lori! Turned out to be a good day. Got the chalk paint and all painting category done. Tomorrow, wood and tools. Wishing you the best with your job and keeping spirits up! I have no doubt that you're good at that. Cheers and boogie boogie.
DeleteYou are rocking it my dear! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Week!
Carla
Hi Carla! Went well. Chalk paint and all paint category done and dusted.
DeleteI'm done with decluttering for now, just can't seem to get in the mood or even decide what needs to be gone.
ReplyDeleteHey River. What's got you not in the mood? Is it the not sure where to start?
DeleteWith that enthusiasm I'm sure you got everything done that you set out to do!!!
ReplyDeleteHiYa! I finished the chalk paint category today. And all things paint related. Tomorrow, wood/tools. Happy March!
DeleteI hope you were able to get everything accomplished! I have to be in the mood to declutter.
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle! I finished the chalk paint and tomorrow I'll hit the tools and wood. Happy March!
DeleteOh I love decluttering! I hope you got everything on your list finished today.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne. Didn't finish but that's no biggie. Cheers!
DeleteHappy decluttering day and Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteI hope your day went well.
All the best Jan
Thanks, Jan. Love the blueberries!
DeleteDay went very well even though only one category got finished. The chalk paint never looked better!
So glad to hear you're all ready to go this week on the de-cluttering. That's really good of you to be working on this project. So many people just give up on it, so here's to you for treading along! You will be relieved and happy when you're done. I'm still doing a little day by day too. I wish you a terrific March week!
ReplyDeleteHey Sheri! Thanks for your great comment about re-decluttering. I did this back in 2016 when I got rid of 90 percent of my stuff. It was LOVELY. So a decade later, I'm doing a re-declutter and doing it the same way as I always do. By category. It is sooo nice. Get a category done, do a little boogie dance and then onto the next category. Wishing you lots of fun in your decluttering as well. Just so nice to do this. Cheers, Ivy.
Deletei am not big on cleaning but organizing and decluttering is my jam!!
ReplyDeleteHey Debbie. It really is fun. Though I get it about the cleaning. For me, sometimes I really enjoy it and other times, less so.
DeleteIt always feels good when you've gone through everything and you know you're not keeping things just for the sake of it. We had a huge declutter when we moved house four years ago but I think we're ready for another, especially my craft room.
ReplyDelete100 percent agree. It's a great feeling. Next time I won't wait a decade for a full house re-declutter. I love that you have a craft room.
DeleteYou are such motivator to me!
ReplyDeleteAh... that's so nice of you to say. Thank you Jeanie ❤️
DeleteHappy decluttering, hoping to get inspired again soon as we badly need to do that around here. I love that header photo of yours. Very artistic and the darker background makes those pretty colors pop. Always love your cartoons. Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Denise! Thank you about the heading. It's inverse square law in motion. The flash can't reach beyond the subject. It's a trick I love.
DeleteWhen you say you're not inspired. Is there something particular holding you back from a declutter? Anything I can help with?
You my Dear, are the best Butt Kicker in the world!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to crank up some energy to do a little of that myself.
Our weeds loom large in our yard ... that's the major job for weeks to come. At our ages Dave and I can only do a little at a time ... BUT ... It will get done!
Sue
Hey Sue! Loving your photography. You've got an excellent eye. So true about the weeds. They can get nuts. I agree, a little at a time gets the job DONE!
DeleteI absolutely love a good declutter. Today I started a donations bag. I'll never fit into the stuff again so someone else might as well enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteHi Cherie! I get that. That's how I feel about some of the books I donated. I'm not going to read them again. Someone else should enjoy them. Thanks for stopping in. Wishing you a groovy week.
DeleteI am working my way through my clothing as I have way too much in that area.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Excellent that you're working your way through. That's the best. Happy Decluttering.
DeleteI have been doing the same! Sorting, cleaning, tossing, and on we go!
ReplyDeleteLove to read this, Granny Sue! Happy Decluttering.
DeleteIvy, It sounds like you mean real business. Good for you!! I need to get motivated.
ReplyDeleteHey Judee! Much thanks. What's holding you back?
DeleteTalk about Spring Cleaning!! You are really on a roll.. good for you Ivy- You are inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks, Judee!!!! Happy Spring.
DeleteThat’s great! I need to do my decluttering big time. Love your Hello Monday art.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. What categories are you looking to declutter?
